May’s Firing

John unloaded the kiln yesterday and out of over 230 pieces we had only 2 mishaps.  A vase with a newer glaze on it ran and stuck to the shelf, and cracked.  Although we have so many successes, it’s still disappointing when we see a beautiful piece broken.  I’m using it in my garden installation so we will enjoy it for years.  Or until it falls apart completely.

Lots of ikebanas, goblets, cups, larger mugs, and the new butter thrones are on the shelves already.
