Reuben Hotdish Recipe

  1. Mix sour cream, sauerkraut, garlic powder and onions.
  2. Put into a 9×13 inch greased pan; add layer of meat.
  3. Add all of the cheese; add cubed bread on top. Pour melted margarine over bread.
  4. Bake uncovered at 350 degrees for 35 to 45 minutes.

Patout’s Hot Crab Dip Recipe

SERVES 1 , 1 quart

  1. Melt the butter in a medium saucepan over medium heat.
  2. Add the onions, bell pepper, and garlic and saute for 10-15 minutes, until wilted.
  3. Stir in the cream and bring to a simmer.
  4. Stir in the cream and bring to a simmer.
  5. Stir in the green onions, parsley, herbs, and seasonings and continue to simmer until the cream has reduced by about a quarter and the sauce is thick.
  6. Stir in the crab meat, return to a simmer, and let cook 2-3 minutes more.
  7. Pour into a chafing dish and serve as an hors d’oeuvre or as part of a buffet with crackers or Melba toast.

Mulled Wine Recipe

Great recipe for the holidays. Nice for parties or elegant dinners. Recipe easily doubles and keeps warm in your crockpot.

40 min | 10 min prep


  1. Wrap cloves and nutmeg in muslin or cheesecloth and tie off with kitchen twine.
  2. Or place them in a large tea ball, if you have one that fits.
  3. Combine wine and sugar into small crockpot, stirring to dissolve sugar.
  4. Add orange and lemon zests, wrapped spices, orange and lemon juices, and stir.
  5. Keep mixture on the low setting until it becomes hot, then place on warm setting, if able.
  6. Do not allow to boil.
  7. Serve warm, ladled into heatproof mugs or glasses.

We use our goblets for just about everything~~mulled wine, sangria, pinot grigio, shiraz, water, orange juice.
