Miniatures: Hansotia at Unitarian Universalist Gallery

Ellison Bay artist Phil Hansotia shows his varied paintings Jan. 15- Feb. 4 at the Unitarian Universalist Gallery in Ephraim.


Hansotia took up painting after retiring to Door County five years ago. He has taken classes with Bonnie Paruch, Robert Bentley and Malin Ekman.He paints in both oils and watercolor and on various media

, including birch bark and wood.

The gallery is located at the UU Fellowship of Door County, 10341 State 42, Ephraim. It is open from 11 a.m.-12:30 p.m. Sundays and 1-3 p.m. Mondays. For more information, call 839-2606.

Miniatures: Frykman display at Kick Coffee

Recent paintings by Sturgeon Bay painter Faith Frykman are on exhibit through Feb. 28 at Kick Coffee, 148 N. Third Ave., Sturgeon Bay.

Frykman creates paintings in oil, pastel and acrylic in styles from abstract to expressionist. Her uninhibited use of texture, surprising colors and intriguing gestural lines results in an exciting visual experience. This exhibit will include paintings of birds as well as her new acrylic abstract works.
