Another 2nd sale is approaching, and that means I get to clean up the studio and gallery and find those pieces that aren’t quite up to being in our showroom.
That’s good news for all.
Sometimes a customer will ding a crock or covered jar, and it goes into the sale.
Sometimes a glaze won’t cover the pot all the way, and it goes into the sale.
Sometimes we miss a crack or split, and that piece goes into the sale.
Sometimes the glaze just doesn’t make the grade, and that piece goes into the sale.
Sometimes, no matter how hard we work at getting the shape we desire, we just don’t get there-
and that pot goes into the sale.
All of our seconds are still functional, still loverly and still worthy of a good home.
You get a good pot at a great price and I got a cleaned up studio and room on my shelves for more pottery.
See you on Friday.
