Our exhibit this year for the Art Crawl is titled
“To the Core”
John’s newest body of work, rock or pebble shaped vases fired both in the pit and the high fire gas kiln, is an expression of the exploration of the irregular shapes and forms created by erosion, the Ice Age; evolution, in other words.
At it’s basic element, clay is constantly created by the water tumbling boulders to rocks to pebbles to sand to clay. It’s a renewable resource and the importance of this fact was not lost on us.
