MPTV Nov. 19 and 20
Our last out of town show is the MPTV Arts and Crafts Gift Show in Brookfield, WI, near Milwaukee, on November 19 from 10-5 and November 20 from 10-4. We love this show, and I’ll tell you why.
It’s not pretty. The lighting is not the best for art. It blows hot or cold in that drafty building. The food is just so/so. These are tough things to overcome as an artist needs all the amenities he or she can get.
It’s for Milwaukee Public TV and it’s the one public tv station we support. Se also donate a piece for the auction, so we are hooked as you can see.
It’s the people. The Prices, Lee and Judy, are our main contact with this gang. They come up to Door County and personally pick up our donation and then, sometimes magic happens. Lee can fix just about anything, and one day he fixed our roto-tiller just like that.
It’s the Director, Art Langlas, who was the director and managed to keep all his artists happy by treating them so well. He never said no, he found a way to solve the problem. He had a can do willingness that made the show for us. REALLY. MADE. IT. Art passed away a earlier this month. We can’t imagine this show without him. Nope, can’t.
We were included on this postcard! Nice compliment, Thanks! See our brown (Celadon and Iron) pitcher just right of center?
THANKSGIVING OPEN HOUSE
Once again we will be holding our annual Holiday Open House. It will be our 13th year, wow. Can’t hardly believe this.
The usual: Ginger snap and oatmeal cookies with hot cider made locally and spiced just right.
Our gallery will be decorated for Christmas. We have ornaments of course, like we always do. Get your 2011 edition.
There will be candy, too, and a tree with lights. The sights and smells of a country Christmas in Ellison Bay and Ellison Bay Pottery just make the season more real, more like they used to be. Share those memories with your loved ones.
We’ll be making our famous leftover turkey soup for our family dinner on Saturday night, so you might get a wiff of that, too.
Goblets, bowls, vases, lanterns, soup mugs, mugs, cups, serving trays and plates, candle-holders and lots of our new chip and dips are sitting on the shelves right now. We’re making more.
Take a day or two and come up for a warm and friendly experience in Northern Door. The other members of our Ellison Bay Arts Groups who are also holding a Holiday Open House are
